Palming is the process of concealing a card in the palm of your hand without the spectator noticing.

It is often used by magicians in routines such as card to wallet card to pocket, or to keep the spectators card at the top of the deck even when they have shuffled it.

How To Do It

Hold the deck in your left hand in dealers grip and pretend to square up the deck with your right hand. As you do this, push the top card about half an inch to the right using your left thumb.

Use your left middle finger to push up on the right corner of the card, causing it to snap up into the palm of your right hand.

Do not lift away your right hand yet! Take the deck in your right hand and offer it to the spectator to shuffle. Only then can you put our hand into your pocket to ditch the card.
